Purchased at an estate sale in Harpursville NY. Family emigrated from German in early 1900s. Karl Jr born around that time was the beloved star of the family. They had ties to Tabarz Germany. Karl had a fox farm and the family appears to have gone to the andirondacks and Canada to camp. I think the jewel of the collection is the leather with leather cover album - it’s pretty complete and contains photos of Fire tower, adirondacks woven backpacks appears to be a couple of photos on top of Mount Marcy as they have the height of the mountain annotated on a photo 5300+ ft. I think there is a photo I identify as Fort Ticonderoga with canons lined up - a place in the general area. Horse with sleigh. Fox cat dogs snow the house the sale was located is in photos. Blue album is almost unused with photos on first few page. Thought I’d make a project but have other things to do! The green album is also mostly empty both blue and green have a lot of loose photos - you get them all. Some photos go into the 1970s but most are pre-1965 or pre-1940-best guess. I know the cows are a special breed and I had one large framed cow portrait that I sold separately to a customer in Scotland but it was a few years back and don’t remember now the breed. Last 3 photos are real photo postcards of I think Karl as baby with steiff bear and bare on the floor! Along with pre WW II return to Germany PCs. Everything and more you get. We might have some letters floating around, possibly a passport BUT not guaranteed that I can send that - husband thinks it’s somewhere but there’s also a chance we sold it and forgot we sold it. That’s the way of the vintage seller! But cleaning out. I’ll add to the lot if I find anything that goes with it!
