Alexander Hewitt Kerr started this company in 1903, in Portland, Oregon. The name was first known as the Hermetic Fruit Jar Company. The name was changed to the Kerr Glass Manufacturing Company in 1904.
For the first 5 years, or so, the jars were made for Kerr, mostly by the Illinois-Pacific Glass Company, and the Kerr name was added. In 1909, Kerr purchased a bankrupt glass company, Altoona, in Kansas. This is when the started using AHK on the bottoms of the jars. Kerr grew to have factories from California to New Jersey, all over the country.
This bottle celebrates \"National Antique Bottle-Jar Exposition\", held in St. Louis, in August of 1976.
The second bottle is a duplicate bottle, but made for 7up. This bottle features the Liberty Bell First Rung on July 8, 1776, 248 years ago.
Both bottles are unopened, and just perfect, with nice graphics.
