Needs a cleaning. I can see that in the light.

I feel a small rough gold patch on one edge. I think it is original to the piece. I can’t guarantee it. You can feel it, but it is hard to see without a loupe.

There are no hairlines, cracks or chips

Signed on the back. It was a gift in 1897.
