DESCRIPTIONAND CONDITION

Up for sale are a pair of vintage carved wood bookends that have a figure of an intellectual or librarian holding open books. They stand about 9.5” tall standing on the bookend. I think they are German made or Italian ANRI, but I did not confirm this and they may be made somewhere else.

They both need some restoration. The screw that should hold the detached one onto it’s base has broken. The books he is holding have cracked and have been glues together. With the other one, the books appear glued and both of the lower hands under the books are missing. This one does not have a book between his feet. There is general wear and there may be minor damage I have not noticed. Pleasereview the photographs and email me if you have any questions or wantadditional photographs.
