Joseph Henry Roujon, born September 1, 1853 in Paris where he died June 1, 1914, is a senior French civil servant, essayist and novelist.
In 1882, Guy de Maupassant dedicates the new Pierrot to him. He was Jules Ferry\'s secretary, then director of fine arts in 1891. In 1899, he was elected a free member of the Academy of Fine Arts, of which he became permanent secretary in 1903. He was elected a member of the French Academy in 1911.
He is buried in Passy cemetery.
