This is anextra large (for the era) panel of vintage faille fabric dating to the 30s/40s.Faille is a ribbed rayon fabric that became very popular during the barkclothera of drapery history as a lighter weight alternative. Many of the designs yousee on barkcloth were also printed onto faille, and I’m pretty sure I have thebarkcloth, and flat weave cotton versions of this somewhere in my collection. Thispanel is in great vintage condition, and the fabric is strong with no holes ordry rot. The only issues I could find are some small rust spots at the bottomwhich I’ve pictured, the folds from being stored for many years, a few randomstitches left from the seams, and a 1” yellowish spot on the edge of the bottomright corner. It has an all-over fade that I like to call “kissed by time” ….it’s that shabby chic look developed through age, that cannot be reproducedwith modern technology. With 10 full bouquets not including the two at thebottom, this panel has the potential for lots of huge shabby chic pillows. Itmeasures approximately 47” W x 70” L.

I will belisting many tubs of antique and vintage fabrics over the next few weeks/months.After most of our kids moved out, a major pivot in my life saw me moving fromoccasional animal rescues, to becoming involved in major TNR events, and full-timerescue/fostering/socializing of feral kittens and older cats. I decided I wouldbe able to do so much more if I had a dedicated sanctuary, however I have noidea how to start or run a non-profit, so I’m funding this myself. We completedall our engineering and health department reports, and have an awesomecontractor with plans ready to go, but just switching to Ramen isn’t going tomake it happen, so I’m parting with vintage textile treasures collected over alife-time. Many of these fabrics are incredibly rare and impossible to findnow. Please keep in mind, if you see a single panel listed, often there is amatching panel, or several, but in a different tub that I haven’t opened yet. Iexamine each piece thoroughly, and describe them to the best of my ability. Myexperience comes from a life-time of collecting and sewing, however I don’tclaim to be an expert. Any error in my descriptions, or missed issues, are notintentional. Also, colors show differently between devices. I always find myphone has exaggerated colors compared to my computer monitor…please keep thatin mind. Ask as many questions as you need to, so you are happy with yourpurchase. This collection has been my obsession for most of my life, butpriorities change, so as I fund my sanctuary and we downsize to a smaller homeand studio, you will benefit if vintage fabrics are your thing.
