Large Vintage Brass Hurricane Taper Candle Holder Pair 17\" Solid Brass Set:

17\" tall pair of vintage brass Taper Candle Holders with glass hurricane shades. These have been well used. There is plenty of Stickem Candle paste in the bottom to hold an elephant. This was used back when to keep taper candles in place, but someone really loved the stuff. Each of these weighs 2 lb 4 oz with the shade. They are substantial. There is some patina one one base, see photos. The other base has been stuck together with the stickem wax. It appears the brass threads failed, and this was the fix. The wax does hold it together very well. Just know that the base can separate. The thread on the other is still functioning properly.
