LAZULITE w/ SIDERITE:Rapid Creek, Dawson mining district, Yukon, Canada. Dimensions: 11.2 x 5.0 x 4.9cm, cabinet. This is a fantastic cabinet specimen of Lazulite displaying dozens of superb, incredibly lustrous, crystals of dark indigo blue Lazulite from 3mm to 1.2cm in size! These big and bright Lazulite crystals cover essentially all of the display surface except the knob in the middle rear of the piece that has numerous, small, rich, medium brown Siderite crystals with the Lazurite. A small vug in the matrix on the right side reveals some small Lazulite crystals with Siderite and sparkling Quartz crystals. The Lazulite crystals just glisten as you rotate the piece in any incident light! They show razor sharp form and are undamaged with contacting around the periphery and one area near the knob. The matrix is iron formation which hosts these fabulous phosphates from the Yukon. This is a fine cabinet piece for the species at a reasonable price as there hasn\'t been any collecting here for more than a couple decades and this is from the good finds in the 1980s.
