This is a mesmerizing specimen of diamond apophyllite that I have enjoyed for many years, but I need to downsize my collection. It is completely covered in crystals of varying sizes.
The only editing I did for the pictures is cropping to focus on the specimen, and, for lighting I use a sunlamp which emits 10,000 lux light and 17,000 Kelvin UV-free light designed to treat seasonal affective disorder.
This specimen is 6 inches long and weighs approximately 1.5 pounds.
Apophyllite is said to magnify and enhance one’s connections to the spiritual realm. It has a calming and purifying effect on the body and mind, and aids in Reiki healing.
