Large Rare Antique Indenture Vellum Hand Drafted Contract with Wax Seals Signed Stamped 1840
This is a rare exceptional hand calligraphed 1840 legal Indenture / Contract (Deed & Mortgage) between two individuals. It features exquisite calligraphy penmanship hand work on not just the document text itself but especially on the heading section. Everything on this antique piece of vellum was drafted by hand back in 1840 in Chester, England. "Chester is a cathedral city and the county town of Cheshire, England, on the River Dee, close to the England-Wales border."
This unique presentation document was made on vellum parchment paper (G. Gibbs parchment & Silvester & Co. London, England.) and contains two original wax seals. It has the intact original one pound fifteen shillings tax seal and Chester local government seal. On the back of the document are the attestation signature blocks with the UK Royal Cypher Label / Seal , Great Britain government tax revenue stamp.
The overall indenture is quite large and measures approx. 31" by 24". This 1840 antique document is ready for hanging or framing and is in excellent condition for its vintage age with no visible damage. Although not framed it will ship with a large 34" by 27" dark archival document acid free professional quality heavy weight frame backing board.
