Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Victorian Period Accessories. Large Antique Classical Early Victorian American Empire Mahogany Veneer Ogee Picture Frame. Nice flame mahogany veneer. Dates somewhere in the 1830-1850s period at Circa 1840. Thick nicely figured mahogany veneer that has aged to a great patina. Solid wood with a thick figured mahogany veneer. Original untouched finish. Would be great with a mirror in it. Selling as pictured with NO glass and NO backboard (frame only). Over 170 years old. Large size measuring about 31\" x 25 1/2\" overall at extremes. Original finish. Nice original patina. Square nail construction. Very outside edge is unfinished as originally made. Fair to good condition for age. Some scuffing, dings, dents, etc.. on frame. Some veneer loss. Liner with minor losses. Very last layer a little loose. Minor small splits on outer edge from where the nails are. No eyelets for wire to hang. What I feel are the minor condition issues listed only add charm and character to this 170+ year old frame. Measures about 31\" by about 25 1/2\" abd 1\" deep overall at extremes. Will hold a 22 1/2\" by 17\" picture ( inner rabbet 22 1/2\" x 17\"). Rabbet is about 1/2\" so picture or mirror has a little leeway. Guaranteed early 19th Century. Insurance and tracking included in Shipping. offer WITH CONFIDENCE .
