English School - Unique Still Life - Signed W. J.

Fine large 18th Century English still life study of an opened book laid on a woodland floor featuring a \"Monastic Ode\", oil on panel. Early and detail study of an opened book featuring a monastic ode in Latin and translated to English laid on a woodland floor surrounded by leaves and acorns. Signed WJ dated 1792. Good panel condition for its age, surface clean and presented in a antique ebony frame.
