Rare Antipatharian deep reef habitat black coral branch.

This is an estate item.

My sister passed away in 2019. She told me she had come into possession of this piece many years before the laws took place in the Carribean to stop transport of coral out of their country.

The coral is very old.

The oldest coral can live up to 4000 yrs. It\'s an interesting study. Scientists analyze the coral and can see what has happened in the ecosystem for years. It helps to have this data about our seas to help understand global warming effects.

A young man dove into the deep ocean to gather this rare find. It is now considered an endangered species.

This piece is 10 inches long. Weighs 4.5oz. Please see the images.  The end is 3 inches, and the middle is 2 inches in width.
