This 2004 edition is hard to find. People seem to hold on to these. Spray pump is also included behind the bottle. great addition to your collection and a sound investment Signed on the bottom of the bottle as well as the neck of the panthere. Too hard to photograph the signature on the neck... This bottle is numbered A417 and has certification as well as story booklet. See Pics!!

This is an Authentic new condition - this is the large 6 inches from the base x 4 inches taken at the widest point from from the Panthere head to its ear.much much more beautiful than the pics, my camera is not working properley at the moment......

In 1905, Lalique opened a retail store in the Place Vendome in Paris. Lalique would keep this location for 30 years until 1935, when he moved it to 11 Rue Royal. Fortuitously, his new Place Vendome store was located very close to the shop of the perfume seller, Francois Coty. By 1908 Rene Lalique had already made significant experiments with the use of glass in his jewelry and in decorative objects, and it was that year that he designed the first perfume bottle labels and then the bottles themselves, for Francois Coty, changing the face of the perfume business forever. Prior to this time, perfume bottles were just plain flasks that held expensive perfumes. But with the invention of synthetic oils that could be used to mass produce perfume, Rene Lalique saw the potential to take a plain everyday object and turn it into an art object. He became the preeminent manufacturer of perfume bottles, designing and producing hundreds of Lalique perfume bottles for dozens of firms. His very first designs for Coty were made by Legras Glassworks, but Lalique also rented a glass factory in 1908/1909 in the small town of Combs-la-Ville, a factory he would purchase by 1913. This confirmed his transition from designer and manufacturer of jewelry and objects d\'art, to designer and manufacturer of glass objects.

Coty asked Renee to make him some nice perfume bottles to house his perfumes. There Lalique\'s perfume and glass business took off. Lalique also made car hood ornaments or car \"mascotts\". Glass sculptures which were attached to the front hood of the nicer cars. They were lit from below and even changed colors depending on the speed of the car. Very cool. Infact, one of his rare hood ornaments in the shape of a fox just broke the record last month at sale. It was slightly damaged and still brought $175,000.00 USD. His older women\'s perfume bottles also can fetch huge sums of money as well as vases. In the late 1980\'s, his granddaughter Marie Claud Lalique helped introduce the \"Mascotte\" line of perfumes for men which are remeniscent of the older hood ornaments. Each year since then Lalique introduces it\'s annual Limited edition perfume bottles for men and women. Your lovely panthere is one of them. They retail for over $1,000.00 each. The Lalique items are an investment for sure. Lalique has never been known for the perfume they house, just the bottles. Each one is a work of art.
