That explains the large numbers of automotive advertisements.The front page highlight is the photo and story ofNick Altrockof the Chicago White Sox, who were in town to play as part of their spring training. The caption below his photo boast that he \"glories in being homely\".Altrock debuted in the major leagues in 1898 and made his last appearance in a game in 1933, at the age of 57. He is one of only 2 players in the history of baseball to have played in 5 decades. In 1912, he joined the Washington Senators as a coach and part time player and stayed with that organization through the 1953 season, which set a Major League record for the longest tenure as a coach for one team, 42 years. He also hold the record for being the oldest player in Major League history to hit a triple.
