LIBERACE OWNED PAIR OF ITALIAN ROCOCO CANDELABRA LAMPS FROM 1988 ESTATE AUCTION:
$3500.00

Liberace Owned Pair of Italian Rococo Candelabra Lampsfrom 1988 Butterfield & Christie\'s sale
These impressive Liberace owned candelabra lamps have a combined total of 14 bulbs, and look amazing when lit. They are documented in the 1988 Butterfield & Christie\'s sale catalog, under the section titled \"The Hollywood Penthouse Terrace,\" lot 559C, page 67.
The candelabra lamps were part of Liberace\'s possessions that were sold at a four day sale held by Butterfield & Christie\'s from April 9-12, 1988 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Later on, when the buyer moved, they were re-sold by the same sale house for a higher price.Liberace had these lamps at his penthouse - at his roof top pool area. He had a penthouse at a five-story building he ownedat 7461 Beverly Boulevard in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles. (See photo of his building, which was designed in 1958.) His penthouse was shown in the movie starring Michael Douglas called \"Behind the Candelabra.\"
The distinctive looking ivory colored candelabra lamps were made in Italy, and have a small metal band on each lamp that says Italy. They are 32 inches tall, and are in the form of a central and six scrolling foliate candle arms, raised on three scrolled feet. They are electrified and have the original wiring. There are one or two bulbs that sometimes blink on and off, but still the lamps are in good overall condition for being about 40 years old. As I noted, both lamps have the original wiring and the new buyer could have them rewired if desired.
The two lamps will be very carefully packed, each in a separate box. The exact shipping cost will be determined by the location of the buyer. The shipping for each box will be about $100.00, but I will have to check with the post office and UPS for the exact amount. The lamps can be picked up in person or shipped.
