It has some issues with cracks and chips but it is a solid shell and the coloring is nice. Knobbed whelks are found along the Atlantic coast from Cape Cod to Florida. They live in the shallow waters of estuaries, beaches and bays. Great addition for your collection or use for beach themed decor. Many who live at the beach use this type shell as a doorstop, paperweight, table art or craft project. This knobbed whelk measures 6 3/8 inches and weighs 12.9 oz. Knobbed whelks can grow up to 10 inches and they feed on oysters, clams and other bivalves.
