AJOITE in QUARTZ:Messina Mine, Limpopo, Transvaal, South Africa. Dimensions: 5.3 x 3.1 x 1.4cm, miniature. This is a razor-sharp Quartz crystal with excellent faces, growth patterns and a perfect termination that hosts an internal phantom of an earlier generation of Quartz that is richly included at the top right by vibrant cerulean blue Ajoite. Ajoite is a rare potassium-copper-aluminum silicate and this locality arguably produces the best and most dramatic display specimens! Rarely do you see a a well developed phantom like this within a perfect Quartz crystal with part of it highlighted by bright blue Ajoite! The Quartz crystal is wedge-shaped and pristine all around! This is incredibly rare as most Quartz crystals are only complete, or nearly so, on one end. It shows extraordinary clarity looking through to the phantom zone within.
