This is an excellent Stereo card of three men and a dog with their boat loaded with gear on he waters edge as the ice is breaking up in Alaska. It is from a Keystone Geography set (the cards have a G under the position number) from about the 1920’s. This set was issued for use in schools to teach students about areas around the world. Many times, these views will have more wear, mostly to the edges, than the more common Keystone “Tour of the World” cards. This card is titled \"Geo. Unit No. 19B - Alaska – The Breaking Up of the Ice\" with a Keystone negative number of 11501 and a position number of 1019. This card is in excellent condition and measures 3 1/2\" by 7”. Stereoviews or stereo cards have two nearly identical images mounted side by side. When looked at through a stereo viewer they give a three-dimensional image. Most popular from 1854 to 1938, they were produced in vast quantities, and many are of historical interest. They usually measure about 3 ½” by 7”.
