As you might expect there has been considerable demand for this Jimmy Buffett tribute newspaper, both online and at the Key West Citizens main office. Contrary to what one might logically think, this newspaper (and most others we think) is not printed by the (Citizen) newspaper itself, but by a large printing firm located on the mainland of Florida.

Additionally the Citizen is not used to this level of demand for their paper, so they have had to start and stop the presses a few times, often having to call workers in to work at night and hiring additional help to fulfill the walk-in demand. All of these stresses have conspired to drive up the cost of producing this commemorative paper and today, September 19, the Key West Citizen officially raised the price of this special issue. Consequently we will have to raise our price as well. We are certainly not happy about it, but at least it is only a nominal increase and one we feel that most Parrot Heads can afford.

This particular item is a complete newspaper dated September 5, 2023 of the Key West Citizen announcing his passing at age 76. The main article there in celebrates his life and contributions to the music industry, making it a unique and valuable addition to any collection.

The Key West Citizen, in anticipation of the citizens of Key West desiring an “archival” grade copy of this collectible newspaper have culled many perfect examples of this issue from the printing presses and set them aside for local collectors to purchase. The copies in this listing are those perfect examples and were purchased from the KW Citizens main office and not from a newsstand. They are in excellent new condition and as flawless as is possible for a printed newspaper to be. Don't miss out on this opportunity to own a piece of music history!

For those wishing to frame this paper, the unfolded front page is 11-1/8” x 22”, so a folded paper (folded the way they are at a newsstand) is 11-1/8” x 11”. If you were to unfold the ENTIRE paper, it would measure 22-1/4” x 22”.

Since these newspapers contain advertising they cannot be shipped via media mail and instead will be shipped via the USPS’s latest service referred to as “Ground Advantage”, which is basically First Class parcel service albeit with a new name.

We will likely be able to give you a better discount on shipping and we will send you an invoice with the combined shipping cost as well as the cost for the entire order. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii we probably won’t be able to offer much (if any) of a discount on 3 or more copies, but everyone else residing in the lower 48 contiguous states will.
