Kathodian Bronze Works KBW Antique Bookends Bronze Clad Sitting Nude Female w/ Goose Bird Kathodian \"Artbronz\" products (based out of New York) were advertised as having a heavy seamless deposit of bronze electroformed over a reinforced plaster core. Kathodian Bronze Works, also seen spelt as Kathodion. as a company filed bankruptcy and was out of business by 1918, making these matching bookends 100 years old! Bookends depict a nude female sitting on a pedestal feeding/holding a goose. Rear of the bookends read \"KBW Artbronz.\" They are bronze clad bookends, with patina and tarnish around the entirety of each. One of the bookends has excessive nicks, at least four of which are 1/4\" or larger, that have exposed the inner core; those four nicks are seen on the front pedestal, the shin of the female\'s leg, the bottom of the base, and the wing of the bird. Bookends measure approximately 8.5-inches tall, 4.5-inches long, and 3.5-inches wide and have a combined weight of 5 lbs. (Each weighs 2 lbs. 8 ozs.). Green felt on bottoms shows wear along the edges.
