Vase made of Myrrh and plastic beads from the 1960s. The myrrhtree or balsam tree is a tree native to East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.The myrrh tree was, in ancient Greece, dedicated to Aphrodite. The Moorish tribessubstituted the balsam tree for the acacia tree of Senegal (or white gum tree)from where they recover the \"gum arabic\".
Pièce extrêmement rare. Vase en \"Myrrhe\" de Mauritanie datant des années 60. L\'arbre à myrrhe ou balsamier est un arbre originaire del\'Afrique de l\'Est et de la péninsule Arabique.
