Ka-Zar rejects her offer and ends up in the arena together with Zartros the Gnome. They kill a gladiator named Makrum and manage to escape. Zartros reveals that Tandy has been brainwashed into becoming queen, and Ka-Zar vows to return and free her. Meanwhile, the rest of Ka-Zar\'s friends have come across a city full of elderly people.
