Details:This sale is for the pair of exquisite RARE antique authentic Art Deco bronze and marble Gerdago lady bookends, made by a famous Austrian sculptor Josef Lorenzl (1892-1950) in 1920-30s.

Each exceptional book end is made of heavy dark marble with white veins and features a beautiful bronze Gerdago lady, reading a book, artfully executed in great detail. The Gerdago name comes fromGerda Iro Gerdago (1906-2004), another famous Austrian sculptor of the same period, who created outrageously stylized sculptures of ladies with big pointed hats.

The pair bookends is as seen in the photos. Each bronze lady is signed LORNZEL on the outside of the right leg.

Measurements:Each bookend measure approx. 7.75" tall, 7.6" long and 3.75" wide. Each bookend weights1 kg 786g.

Condition:The pair of antique Art Deco bronze and marble bookendsis in very good condition with minor signs of age to the cold paint. Each piece has a protective layer of green velvet, glued to the bottom
