SHEDD AQUARIUM Pub. by Cameo Greeting Cards, Inc., Chicago, Illinois The fascinating white of its Georgia Marble contrasts with the rich green of the Grant Park trees and lawn and with the clear blue skies above Lake Michigan. Located at the foot of Roosevelt Road in Chicago, Illinois, it is one of the finest aquariums in the world and the largest one in America. The cacapity of the tanks is 50,000 gallons, its continuously changing exhibits average some 10,000 living specimens of about 250 species. It houses fishes, reptiles, in-vertebrates, amphibia, birds and some mammals as well. It is a gift of the late John G. Shedd, former chairman of the Board of Marshall Field & Company in Chicago.
