Not only is this the acclaimed, oversized Jim Steranko volume showing his original artwork for The Shadow, two extra-special attributes are present!
Inside the front cover, Steranko wrote a note to the late DC Comics Editor, Dale Crain. We are helping Dale's widow sell several of his items right now and this is one of the more special ones.
In addition, the actual program from the 1979 Comics and Fantasy Fair was inside with original artwork drawn on the back. Steranko spoke at this convention and we assume Steranko drew the sketches on this program you see here. We do nothave proof Steranko drew these sketches, but Dale Crain always kept these two items together. If you are knowledgeable on late 1970s artists, especially those who were also on the convention program (Gil Kane (these actually look somewhat Kane-like), John Byrne, and Dave Sim), you might have a better eye to know who drew these if not Steranko.
