The car began its career in 1938 as a Tipo 158, developed for the pre-WWII voiturette formula. After the war, it competed in 35 races in the new Formula 1, dominating the first two seasons with 32 wins in the capable hands of equally legendary drivers, Juan Manuel Fangio, Nino Farina, Luigi Fagioli, and Felice Bonetto. The Tipo 159 is one of the most successful racing cars ever, taking the checkered flag in 47 of 54 races it entered.Photo is lithographically printed. Print is in excellent condition with light bumps to corners and edges. The image itself is in excellent shape, and would mount, mat and frame beautifully.
