Here is a nice first edition book about the Civil War for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep for yourself!

Very nice 1st Edition of this Civil War book. The book is entitled, \"Life of Jefferson Davis and Life and Military Career of Stonewall Jackson\" Published by John Potter and Co. of Philadelphia, PA. The book is a first edition. There are a few black & white illustrations in the book.

This book does not come to the market very often. It is one of only a few of the first edition versions that we could find online.

Very desirable copy of this classic Civil War book issuance. The book has a green cloth hardcovers. Nice incised design in black on the covers. Some loss of finish along the open side of the front and back covers. Tearing to the cover on the top of the spine.

The front and back covers are still securely attached to the rest of the book at the spine. Cracking on the inside of the front and back cover at hinge at the spine. The title is done in gold gilt on the spine. All the pages appear to still be there. Some very minor rub to the covers at the edges, front bottom corner pressed in.

Some light browning of the pages. No foxing or brown spotting. Some minor soiling in places. The book\'s pages are all intact, no major tears, missing pages or repairs. Spine shows wear at the edges. Some finish loss along the front and back covers on the outside on open side.

No writing in the book that we can ascertain. No musty, tobacco, or mildewy smell. One of the front blank pages has pulled off the spine, still with the book. A dusty smell to the book being 150 plus years old.

The book is 7.5\" tall, by 5-3/8\" across, by 1-3/8\" wide. The book is 300 pages in length. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures. Don’t be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.

We take great pride in is our wrapping to ensure that yourorder is safely shipped to you. Youmight find our shipping costs higher than other sellers, but it is due to theextra time, packing care, and materials we utilize. Of over 900 packages shipped last year, wehad only two items with issues, a 99.8% damage free delivery rate. Keep in mind, we are not shipping soft goods, like shirts orpants. We are shipping vintage/antique items that are fragile and requirespecial care.

We also obtain insurance on any item that was bought for $50or more, and require signature on delivery for items that are valued at over$200. Plus we have to pay the 11.75% ofthe final value and shipping fees that and PayPal charges.

Returns are accepted by seller within 30 days of receipt of item where an item is not as described. The Buyer will be assessed a 15% restocking fee of the Item and Shipping Cost should they decide to return this item for whatever the reason.
Please note that a restocking fee is charged toto cover costs related to the loss of listing time and other potential sales, plus the amount of care and time that goes into preparing our unique and fragile items for shipping.
