Jaguar Bonnet Mascot - Jaguar Car Mascot on Cast Metal Base- RARE GOLD COLOURED CLASSIC STABLE VERSION.

A lovely and very special example of its type. It’s a very attractive version which would make a nice addition to any collection of the Jag range of mascots. Definitely one for the Jag enthusiast.

CLASSIC STABLE

Classic Stable Ltd are well known for their high end decanters in the form of a car front grill including the Rolls Royce vertical slat radiator with miniature Spirit of Ecstasy, the Mercedes mesh grill with 3 pointed star and the Jaguar grill with the iconic leaping cat etc. These items can command many many hundreds of pounds and very often 4 figures. They can often be found in sales with BONHAMS and alike.

Originally Classic Stable sold through high end retail establishments such as Harrods of London back in the 1960s. Unfortunately they no longer trade. But in addition to their decanters their legacy also includes the Jaguar bonnet mascot which they mounted on an all chrome or all gold cast base, here we have such an item. Believe it or not the Classic Stable Jaguar mascot, and especially the gold coloured example, appears to more difficult to find than the decanters.

CONDITION

There is NO damage to the mascot. However, there are some very light surface marks to the mascot and the base. Additionally, the gold coloured layering has rubbed in some areas revealing the base metal underneath. I have tried my very best to show any issues in the photos, please look closely.

Overall It’s a really nice and relatively rare example of its type.
