Produced by G W Wilson in or before 1896 from the set \" South Africa \" Lantern slides as a photographic medium in my opionion produce one of the finest photograpic images and as a result of the way they are produced images stay well preserved compared to other photographic mediums as a result of being protected behind glass.

The slide consists of two glass plates, on that the image is applied to and a second to protect the image. The slide normally has a inner paper border and then the slide is then held together with edging paper.Please be aware that as the slide can be photographed both sides so the image in photo 1 may be reversed in error
