After JKHartmann self-published some of his amazing card magic in the mid-1970\'s, the magic world instantly recognized his huge talent and creativity.Hartmann was prolific in the 1970\'s and 1980\'s, and well-respected for the high quality of his card routines and effects.

So in 1980, Tannen\'s published Hartman\'s first seven manuscripts in five books. (One of the Tannen\'s books collected three of Hartman\'s shorter manuscripts into one book.)

Tannen\'s published the books with a more professional and attractive format. (Hartman\'s original manuscripts were very simply bound in blue folders.) But like the original manuscripts, the books are simply typeset and have few or no illustrations. (Hartman\'s text is clear and he is good at conveying technical elements, so lack of illustrations is not a problem.)

This is one of the five Hartman books that Tannen\'s published. (The one that includes three separate Hartman reprints)

3 COLLECTED WORKS (Super Dupes, Odd Lifts, and Secret Subtraction) softbound 94 pages

Like all Hartman\'s books, this includes a mix of effects and methods, with variant routines/methods for some of the items. The Odd Lifts section focuses on variants of multiple lifts, and as you would expect, the Secret Subtraction part covers this Hartman sleight which has become a standard weapon in all working cardicians\' arsenal of moves.
