Beautiful softly finished soapstone sculpture, but not certain which animal...bird? .

More modernist styling to this carving with it\'s minimalist soft features. Very striking.

The underside is signed inInuktitut syllabics, but they are very hard to read.

A sticker on the underside notes that it was bought in Alaska in 1988.

Approx. 5 1/3\" tall and 3 1/4\" wide.

It does have some chips on left foot and some surface scratches ( not to be confused by the \"feathers\" detail) on body consistent with age and nature of material and that can probably be polished out.
