Impressive Vintage Wooden Hand-Carved Ebonized Asian Elephant Bookends, 1940s. This is a beautiful vintageset of two hand carved Elephant Bookends. Each bookend has a determinedelephant facing a book, ready to hold it up with all its might. Tusks, eyes,and nails are individually made and placed against the ebony skin of theelephant. Each bookend measures approximately 7” tall, 8” long, and 3.5” wide.Bookend to bookend they measure approximately 16” long. Your books in thecenter will make the measurement longer. This lovely set is in ExcellentVintage condition. There are signs of wear, one tusk and one nail are missing,and one elephant is a tad bit loose (not shaky loose), but these do not takeaway from the beauty or the functionality of this strong, majestic duo. Thereare no irreparable scratches or broken pieces. These are hand-carved andtherefore not completely identical. They were preowned. Used lovingly. Pleasesee photos.
