Imperial German Navy KaiserlichesMarine officer's cap. Dark Blue wool cap with ersatz visor, and chin strap, black silk lining, leather sweatband. Officer's badge in gold galloon embroidery on mohair band. Gilt buttons.The cap is in overall good condition except for stitching on sweatband coming loose near visor (photo 8), some stitching missing on visor trim (photos 1 and 9) and pieces coming loose from ersatz chin strap (photos 2 and 9). There is a small moth hole on top of cap (photo 10) with small moth tracks next to it, but otherwise no insect damage apparent.
