Instituted to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary ofIndia\'s independence, 15 August 1997. For police recipients, these medals have not normally beenofficially manufactured and issued, but were, instead, made locally byindependent manufacturers and the policemen can either buy them from theseshops or the battalions buy it and give it to the qualifying constables. Thisgives rise to great variability in manufacture and even in design details. Infact, it appears that some enterprising manufacturers have unofficiallyimagined designs (and the medal depicted may be one of these?). Established: 1997. Obverse: Circular 35 mm copper-nickel, the Lahori Gate ofthe Red Fort in Delhi with the legend above \"50th INDEPENDENCEANNIVERSARY\" and below \"1947-1997\". Suspended by a non-swivelingstraight bar suspender. Official issues are named on the edge (?). (Or is thisthe reverse?) Reverse: A pebbled map of India with the legend above\"50 vi Swatantrata Varshganth\" or \"50th Anniversary ofIndependence\" and, below \"1947-1997\". (Or is this the obverse?) Ribbon: 32 mm, yellow with central 3-mm stripes of orange,white, and green.

Please beaware that the binding glue in vintage paperbacks is likely to be much drierthan newer books, and thus more fragile than more modern printings. Paper alsocan be sometimes somewhat brittle.
All vintagepaperbacks require proper & careful care in handling & reading or thespine glue will crack!!.

WE HAVE NO IDEA HOW FAST THESE NEW RATES WILL ACTUALLY BE,SO PLEASE BE PATIENT. WE ARE EXPERIENCING 2 – 6 WEEKS AS BEFORE DEPENDING ON THE CLASS OF MAILUSED.
Shipments inside the US are also experiencing massiveslowdowns, please be patient. Media Sometimes is taking 1 to 4 weeks with norhyme or reason as to why.
