Here offered is an incredibly rare specimen consisting of lots of tiny proustite crystals all over a matrix of native arsenic. Specimens from the Annaberg district within Sachsen (Saxony) are very scarce on the market and are highly sought after, especially historic pieces such as this. I had to "fight" several other people just to get this specimen years ago and I haven't seen another one since. This mine is also a particularly rare locality within the district. There are proustite crystals all over the specimen all throughout the crevices and pitted surface of the native arsenic. While Proustite is a rather common mineral in the great Saxony area, it was very rare within the Annaberg-Buchholz district. This is, again, a very rare specimen and I'll price match if you can find one cheaper that is off the same age, size and quality as this piece. This piece dates to around the mid 1800s and is a true historic treasure.
