Historic 1870\'s Zuni Heartline Deer Pottery Olla-Native American Pottery-7\": $1560.00
Authentic Antique 1870\'s Zuni Pottery Olla Jar, Native American Pottery, 7\" x 5.5\", New Mexico. This small historic Zuni Pueblo pottery water jar is in good original condition with one minor rim repair, shown in the last two photos. No other repairs, no cracks or chips. It has appropriate wear for its age, a beautiful patina and crackling of the clay slip. I have had this pottery jar in my personal collection since the late 1980\'s. The person I got it from purchased it from Lyn A. Fox, a historic pottery dealer in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Fox\'s business card that came with it, described it as an 1870\'s child\'s water jar. The pot is 7\" wide and 5 1/2\" high, the rim is 5\" wide. It has a concave bottom. The body features a traditional Zuni design with five deer with heartlines and four sideways elongated stylized birds around the top. It is beautifully painted. It is a stunning old Zuni Pueblo pot for any historic Native American pottery collector.
