ThisHarmony Kingdom box figurinenamed \"Retired Racers!\" was carved by David Lawrence in 1999. It was hand painted/finished bylocal craftsmen in China.

Harmony Kingdom description:

\"A manifestation of the art of selective breeding, the greyhound is a sleek and elegant beast. Man, always eager to bet on something, created the racing dog for his own amusement. On the exterior of the box figurine hides a rabbit, often used as an unfortunate lure in the training of racing greyhounds, and a few small mice are flying out from under the feet of the speedy hounds. The CL refers both to Catherine Lawrence, the sculptor\'s baby daughter, and Catherine Leicester, an avid HK collector and dedicated greyhound rescue worker. On the interior relaxes a retired racer receiving a well-deserved rest. Once he competed in the tough and dangerous world of the dog track.
