This sculpture is an exceptionallybeautiful portrayal of Manjushri / Jambiyang.Expertly cast from copperalloy using lost wax method gilded with 24 karat gold and hand painted; thissculpture is a profound representation of Bodhisattva Manjushri / Jambiyang.The Bodhisattva of Wisdom sits gracefully in his popular position where heholds the sword in his right hand and the left hand holds the stem of a lotusflower that supports the Prajnaparmita, the Perfection of Wisdom sutra. He wearsa finely carved crown, necklaces, armlets and anklets; elegantly detailedornaments of a Bodhisattva, signifying the omniscient wisdom of enlightenment.His necklaces, anklets, waist and arm ornaments, in particular, are beautifullyhand carved. And over all, the stunning rich gold gilding, the fine handcarvings and face painted gives it look more beautiful and live. This sculpturewas individually handcrafted in Patan, Nepal by master artisans of the Shakyaclan who are considered among the best in the world. These craftsmen are themodern heirs to a centuries-old tradition of creating sacred art for use intemples and monasteries. The fine metalworking techniqueshave been passeddown from generation to generation since ancient times.
