Foryour consideration is this vintage, World War II era, Halifax, Nova Scotia Police Department 1941 softcover pocket reference manual titled "BOOK of LECTURES and EXAMINATIONS for POLICE CONSTABLES POLICE DEPARTMENT HALIFAX, N.S.".
This is a very RAREfind and an antique law enforcement collector’s opportunity of a lifetime. Iseriously doubt you will ever encounter another one of these originaland obsolete publications. I am a retired police officer and I'm offeringmy lifetime collection (50 years' worth) of law enforcement memorabilia untilthe last pieces are sold. The manual is a blue softcover double stapled bound booklet measuring approximately 4.0" wide and 6.0" tall. Thetop center of the front cover is imprinted in black ink with what appears to be an early rendition of the Nova Scotia coat of arms. Directly below this image are the words
"Book of LECTURES" "and EXAMINATIONS" "for" "POLICE" "CONSTABLES" "POLICE DEPARTMENT" "HALIFAX, N.S."
"1941" The back cover is blank and does not have any embossing or labeling.
This 80 year old manual is complete and contains all of its original 28 printed and stapled pages. All the internal pages remain secured inside the soft covers and are in good condition with minor age toning. There are NO handwritten notations and/or evidence of creases, tears or dog eared corners. Overall, the pages remain in remarkably good clean condition. In all honesty, this book does not appear to have been issued nor carried much less read through. Please refer to the description photos for moredetails about what I have described.The manual's covers are strong and sturdy with no bends or creases. The surfaces of the covers show very minor wear and scuffs from handling over the past 79 years but nothing you would not expect to find on an original document such as this.
