HUMMEL 184 LATEST NEWS - You receive both Hummel 184 figurines with the Youth Soccer Tournament Nurnberg -FUSSBALL JUGEND TURNIER NURNBERG newspaper - one normal piece and one error piece where Nurnberg was misspelled Nurberg.

This is a rare German language Latest News Hummel figurine. It was issued to commemorate a Youth Soccer Tournament in Nurnberg in 1966. To the best of my knowledge, each member of the Goebel sponsored team received one of these unique Hummel figurines. This makes these figurines very rare as only a limited number were made and they were never sold to the public as normal Hummel figurines are. What makes one of these pieces even more scarce is that the artist who painted it spelled Nurnberg wrong on one instance on the newspaper of one of these pieces. At the time these pieces were produced, the newspaper wording was hand painted by a Goebel artist. In later years, pieces had the newspaper writing applied by decals. This piece should have been pulled by quality control and should never have left the Goebel factory.

Both figurines are in excellent,like newcondition. They have no chips, cracks, crazing, nicks, breaks, or repairs that I can see.
