EDWARD BELLAMY (1850-98)SIGNED CARD, “Edward Bellamy”, on a card 4 x 2.75, with photo, by the American author, journalist, and political activist most famous for his utopian novel Looking Backward (1888). Bellamy’s vision of a harmonious future world inspired the formation of numerous “Nationalist Clubs” dedicated to the propagation of Bellamy’s political ideas. He then established a newspaper known as The New Nation and began to promote united action between the various Nationalist Clubs and the emerging Populist Party. The card is in fine condition, with minor age toning, and the date “1895” in another hand, lower left. #12775
