How we ship Glass Plate Negatives:glass plate negatives are shipped in a sealed pH stable conservation plastic bag and placed into a custom cut padding, sandwiching it on all sides by over 1\" and adding stability to the glass so no area is carrying increased weight. This is then bubblewrapped and additional padding is placed on all sides of the glass plate bundle inside the box. We do not trust carriers to be gentle with any item and take extra precautions to head off any mishandling. We have been shipping large glass plate negatives such as this since 1980 and have never lost one- please note that this accounts for the increased shipping price- as the weight/dimensions are not of the glass plate alone. It is set to the accurate dimensions/weight of the above noted packaging.
