For sale is a Gorgeous Vintage Stanley Bevelled Edge Socket Chisel 1/2\" Blade. The chisel has a bevelled edged blade that is in good condition which measures 5 3/8\" fromthe tip to the end of the socket. The blade has various dings, scrapes, scuffs and someminor pitting. The blade has clearly been honed in the past but is not square, and could use
a good sharpening. I have resisted the temptation to hone it and have given it a light once
over with superfine steel wool and a coat of paste wax to prevent flash rusting. The blade is
made from high quality steel that will take an edge and keep it. There are no owners marks,
no etchings, no cracks no bends etc. The handle is made of hardwood and has a leather cap on the end (see pictures). The handlehas no cracks, no breaks. It does have various scuffs, scrapes etc. and the finish has been wornaway (see pictures). I have given it a light clean and left it as is so you can decide for yourselfhow far you want to go in restoring or refinishing it. On the front of the blade near the socket (see pictures) \"Stanley, Made in USA\". All in all a rather nice example of a classic Stanley chisel. Please examine the pictures carefully to fully appreciate the item on offer. They can tell you much
