This figurine was first introduced in 1984 for members of the Goebel Collectors\' Club only and not sold as an Open Edition. It was originally modeled by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek. He sculpted from an original drawing by Sister M.I. Hummel. It has an incised 1976 copyright date along with the TMK-6 trademark. Also bears the inscription \"EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL EDITION No. 8 FOR MEMBERS OF THE GOEBEL COLLECTORS\' CLUB\" applied by blue decal on the bottom of the base. The original official issue price was $90 in the U.S. and $110 in Canada, in addition to the member\'s redemption card. This figurine is a closed Exclusive Edition (CE)(EE). • New Open Box - Hummel was stored in attic with dozens of other hummels. Only opened box to inspect and provide accurate item description for this listing.

• Has Goebel W. Germany trademark (TMK-6) with the year \"1976\" centered underneath trademark stamped in Blue on underside of base.

• Stamped \"EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL EDITION No. 8 FOR MEMBERS OF THE GOEBEL COLLECTORS CLUB\" in blue on underside of base.

• Incised Hummel Number \"409\", Factory Control Number \"7\" and Copyright Date \"1976\" on underside of base. Incised M.I. Hummel signature is located on rear side of base.

• Oversized - Hummel stands at 4.25\" tall, which is a quarter inch taller than the catalogs listed height of 4\".

• Master Painter Hand-signed signature in black with year \"84\" on underside of base.

• Hummel retains the original name sticker, however the adhesive has lost it\'s stickiness from decades of storage and is no longer on the figurine. I did not try to reattach it.

• Comes with Certificate of Authenticity Hang-Tag and original white box. The box has the rarer Goebel Label on the side with the stock number \"470\". It also has both original two foam inserts and is in really good shape considering it has been sitting in the attic for several decades. Nicer than most I\'ve seen.

• Closed Exclusive Special Edition. (EE)(CE) (Never sold as Open Edition!)

• Hummel is in New Open Box condition! (Never Displayed!) No Repairs! No Chips! No Touch Ups! No Crazing!
