Story/Spoilers:

In issue #1Sub, Inthe laboratory of Dr. Eli Talbert, his assistant Ridley informs him that theinterdimensional portal they had been working on is finally completed. Justthen, Talbert's employer Ms. Yamada enters the laboratory and tells Talbert toturn on the portal. Talbert warns Ms. Yamada that the portal is a completelyuntested technology that requires further testing, but she tells him that hisonly job was to build the portal, and that job is now completed. Talbertactivates the portal, and Ms. Yamada and her bodyguards go through, withTalbert close behind. On the other side of the portal, they find themselves inthe ruins of a city. As they wander through the ruins, the bodyguards noticesomething fly past them and open fire at it. One bodyguard walks towards it,only for the creature to reveal itself as a tiny Rodan, who kills the bodyguardwith its uranium heat beam. The group suddenly hears a voice ordering them toreturn to a shelter as Kiryu arrives and attacks the Rodan. As Kiryu blasts theRodan with a laser beam, several more Rodans descend and swarm the machine. Thehumans start to run away, but one Rodan catches up with them. Before the Rodancan carry off one of the bodyguards, it is blasted by a soldier wielding alaser gun. The soldier and the rest of his men load Talbert, Yamada and thebodyguards onto a truck and drive away. The soldier chastises Talbert and Ms.Yamada for wandering in the area most populated by giant monsters. Talbert askswhat happened to the city, only for the soldier to incredulously ask if he iskidding. Ms. Yamada explains that they are "visitors" to the city, and that their transport broke down. The soldier then explains that the giantmonsters began appearing about ten years ago and terrorized the Earth, only fora much more powerful monster to appear and end their reign of terror. He ordersthe shades on the truck to be lowered, and shows them the monster in question:Godzilla. The soldier says that Godzilla keeps the other monsters in check andprevents them from growing to full size, and that he and his men do whatever ittakes to keep Godzilla happy. Talbert tells them to turn the truck around, andone of Ms. Yamada's men holds the soldier at gunpoint. The truck drops themoff, near a battle between two Rodans and two Mothra larvae. As they run backto the portal, they are pursued by a huge three-headed dragon, which abodyguard says is called King Ghidorah by the soldiers. Talbert, Ms. Yamada andher remaining bodyguards go through the portal, but before it can close KingGhidorah travels through it as well.

Next in issue #2Sub, Twoweeks after King Ghidorah emerged from Dr. Talbert's lab in Cambridge,Massachusetts, the eastern United States has been completely devastated, withthe cities of Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. havingalready fallen and all efforts by the U.S. military, NATO, and the UnitedNations having failed. A general is interviewed on a news program, where heexpresses his belief that there is no way to stop King Ghidorah and that theend times have come. Dr. Talbert is viewing the program from a prison cell, andturns it off once the general begins to rant about how humanity is doomed. Aguard enters Talbert's cell and escorts him to an office, where Ms. Yamada istalking to another general. The general informs the two of them that thegovernment has developed a desperate plan to stop King Ghidorah. Theinterdimensional portal has been rebuilt on a much larger scale, and Talbertand Ms. Yamada are to be sent back into the alternate dimension to findsomething to stop King Ghidorah. The two are airlifted to the new portal, whereDr. Talbert encounters his former assistant, Ridley, who has been tasked withrebuilding the portal. Talbert tells Ridley to close the portal if anythingworse than King Ghidorah comes through, to which she readily agrees. Talbertand Yamada are then assigned to a team of soldiers, led by a soldier namedWeinstein. The portal is activated, and the team goes through. On the otherside, they see Godzilla roaming through the city. Talbert runs into the street, right in front of an armored vehicle. Drayer, the soldier Talbert and Ms.Yamada had met in this dimension before, exits and discusses the situation.Talbert asks to borrow some of their technology to stop King Ghidorah, butDrayer says their technology was useless against King Ghidorah, and onlyGodzilla could stop him. Talbert and Yamada enter an armored vehicle andactivate the siren, causing Godzilla to give chase. After dodging Godzilla'satomic breath, the vehicle passes through the portal. A few seconds later,Godzilla comes through the portal as well. Ridley asks what they will do now,and Ms. Yamada answers that they will make Godzilla fight King Ghidorah.Talbert then remarks that he has a bad feeling about this plan.

Next in issue #3Sub,Godzilla and King Ghidorah are battling in Washington D.C. While their conflictrages, Dr. Talbert, Ridley, Yamada and Weinstein are observing from alaboratory. As Yamada and Weinstein discuss the ethics behind the portalYamada's company constructed, Ridley informs Talbert of a new plan to combatthe monsters. Back in D.C., Godzilla gains the upper hand against King Ghidorahand seemingly defeats the beast with a blast of his atomic breath. As Godzillawalks away, King Ghidorah rises back to his feet and kicks Godzilla in theback. King Ghidorah then takes flight and grabs Godzilla with his feet, flyingout over the open ocean. Seeing an opportunity, Weinstein contacts an aircraftcarrier and recommends a nuclear strike against the monsters while they areover the open ocean. Talbert expresses his doubt that the plan will work andtells Ridley to prepare to activate her backup plan. The president approves thestrike and two fighter jets armed with nuclear missiles are launched from thecarrier. The jets approach Godzilla and King Ghidorah and unleash their payloadof missiles, causing both monsters to vanish in a nuclear explosion. As thesmoke clears, the water stirs and Godzilla surfaces once again, completely unharmed, while King Ghidorah is nowhere to be seen. As Godzilla wades back to shore, ahelicopter is deployed to lure him away. Godzilla fires his atomic breath atthe chopper and misses, then simply destroys it with a swipe of his hand. AsTalbert and Weinstein panic to decide what measures to take next, Ridley dons asuit with motion controllers attached to it and informs them about her backupplan. Ridely states that she recovered metal from the robot Godzilla found inthe other dimension and replicated it to build and army of"MechaGodzillas," as she dubs them. Weinstein protests the operation, but Talbert states there is no other option and tells Ridley to unleash therobots. As the MechaGodzillas fly out of a hangar, Talbert and Yamada watch ona computer screen and both state they hope this works.

Next in issue #4Sub, Asthe army of MechaGodzillas flies into battle against Godzilla, Dr. Talbert asksRidley why she didn't just build one giant MechaGodzilla instead of severalsmaller ones, stating that Godzilla will just swat the robots away like flies.Ridley states that there is a theoretical backup plan should the MechaGodzillasfail: King Ghidorah's carcass could be salvaged and cybernetically modified tomake him into a weapon they could control. Weinstein asks Ridley how long theplan would take, with Ridley stating it's highly theoretical. Believing it isthe best option left, Weinstein tells Ridley to go through with the plan andbegins recruiting the military's help. While Godzilla battles the MechaGodzillasout at sea, Ridley and a team of divers sneak past him in a boat and dive tothe sea floor, where King Ghidorah's body lies. Ridley states that although thebeast's central head is gone, its wings are shredded and there is a gapingwound in its chest, it is intact enough to be salvageable. The divers place agiant balloon underneath the carcass and pump it with air, allowing it to floatto the surface. Helicopters arrive and attach lines to King Ghidorah's body, then airlift it away while Godzilla is still distracted by the MechaGodzillas.Back at the laboratory, Ms. Yamada and Dr. Talbert await Ridley's return anddiscuss further options should this plan fail. Talbert morosely states that ifthis plan doesn't work, they will all die. Talbert receives word from Ridleythat King Ghidorah's carcass has arrived at the facility and goes to look atit. Using cranes, scientists fit King Ghidorah's body with robotic parts andconvert it into Mecha-King Ghidorah. As Talbert and Ridley stare at the completedcyborg, Talbert tells Ridley to check the polarity, to which she replies shealready did. Ridley activates Mecha-King Ghidorah, causing the eyes on itsmechanical head to light up. Just then, they hear Godzilla's roar as themonster arrives and tears open the walls of the facility. As the monstersprepare to battle, Talbert tells Ridley to go somewhere safe, but she tells himthat she will be fine and that he needs to go check on the interdimensionalportal. Talbert kisses Ridley on the cheek and wishes her luck, then runs tothe portal, which is powering up on its own and being opened from the otherside. When Talbert arrives, Ms. Yamada sees a simple message on a computerscreen transmitted from the other Earth, which simply reads "We're sosorry." The portal opens, and through it emerge Rodan, an adult Mothra andtwo larvae, Biollante, Anguirus, King Caesar and Zilla. Talbert and Yamada thenrealize the people of the other Earth have doomed them.

Finally in issue #5Sub, Thestory so far… Scientist have opened a portal to another dimension… one ruled bymonsters! After Godzilla made it to this world, humanity has struggled tocontain him. Now the alternate dimension has sent all of their monsters tofollow him. The monstrous Kaiju of the alternative Earth now pour through theportal to their parallel counterpart . The scientists and military finallybegin to understand the impact of their actions. Especially when they realizethat without Godzilla’s help to keep the monsters in check on the alternative Earth, those monsters then grew more powerful and dangerous.
