Dating to the mid-1930\'s this lamp is an excellent example of period modernist design. While certainly in the style of Gilbert Rohde, there are no makers marks and I am unable to find any documentation as to specific provenance.
This lamp is in original cosmetic condition.* The lamp is switched on and off by turning the chrome ball atop the crown above the shade. The original switched bakelite socket has been retained and the bulb contacts have been cleaned and polished. Original wiring has been refurbished with new old stock rayon covered power cord and appointed with new vintage style plug.
This lamp accepts a standard edison light bulb.

* NOTES ON COSMETIC CONDITION:While the lamp displays nicely overall, upon close inspection one can observe evidence of use and wear over the passage of time. Chrome surfaces show superficial wear and abrasions. Chrome discoloration on either side of the center pole where it is joined to the base platform. The finish of the solid walnut base has not been restored. As found, it shows wear and some discoloration. Additionally, the edge of the thick milk glass shade is rough from the original manufacturing process and has some tiny fleabites throughout.
