Sabre allemand (prussien) d’artilleur modèle 1873 de SIMSON & Co SUHL, datée de 1912
Longueurs approximatives du sabre 36½ pouces, du fourreau 31 pouces, de la lame 29¾ pouces, de la
garde 5½ pouces. Le poids de l’arme est de 3 livres et 14 onces.
Poinçons et inscriptions
Dos e la lame, Couronne W 12, (Kaiser Wilhelm 1912) et en dessous le poinçon de l’inspecteur. Le
poinçon de l’inspecteur est aussi présent sur la garde près du tranchant de la lame, sur le dos de la
poignée à deux reprises et sur un côté de la bouche du fourreau et sur le côté gauche, au centre, de la
traînée au bout du fourreau (difficile à voir).
À la base du fort de la lame, du côté gauche, derrière l’oreillon SIMSON & Co et en dessous SUHL.
La Simson & Co est une entreprise allemande crée en 1856 dans la ville de Suhl, dans la Province de
Saxe (aujourd’hui le Thuringe), qui a fabriqué des armes pour l’armée prussienne. Elle a disparue en
février 2003.
La tête de la vis sur le fourreau du côté du dos de la lame est absente.

Approximate lengths of saber 36½ inches, scabbard 31 inches, blade 29¾ inches, guard 5½ inches. The weight
of the weapon is 3 pounds and 14 ounces.
Hallmarks and inscriptions
Back of the blade, Crown W 12, (Kaiser Wilhelm 1912) and below the hallmark of the inspector. The
inspector\'s mark is also present on the guard near the edge of the blade, on the back of the handle twice and on
one side of the mouthpiece of the scabbard and on the left side, in the center, of the drag at the end of the
scabbard (difficult to see).
At the base of the blade fort, on the left side, behind the langet SIMSON & Co and below SUHL.
Simson & Co is a German company created in 1856 in the city of Suhl, in the Province of Saxony (today
Thuringia), which manufactured weapons for the Prussian army. She disappeared in February 2003.
The head of the screw on the scabbard on the back side of the blade is missing.
