Incredible opportunity to own a piece from James McDivitt’s personal collection. I acquired this at a living estate sale in Tucson, AZ, in April 2022, he unfortunately passed away later that year. This is a true and authentic award that was given to him by the Air Force Association. It is inscribed “Lifetime Achievement Award Brig Gen James A McDivitt, USAF, ret 2014”. It is a gorgeous crystal globe that stands approximately 10 inches high and about 7 inches wide. There is truly only one of these with his name on it.

James McDivitt had an amazing career as a combat pilot during the Korean War and later a test pilot in the Air Force. His remarkable achievements and stellar flying career led to his selection as an astronaut and he served as a Commander on both the Gemini 4 and Apollo 9 missions to space. In his later career he spent time as an aeronautical engineer for NASA, was on the board of several companies, and engaged in many speaking opportunities.

I have several pieces from his personal collection I will reluctantly be letting go to fund an expansion of my business over the next several weeks, to include his distinguished graduate award from test pilot school.
