Geisha girls outdoor scene lusterware teapot Made in Japan:
$12.00

This teapot is preowned and NOT in brand new condition. There are flaws with the teapot. Some of these flaws will be listed further down in the description. There is no original paperwork or packaging available for this piece.
This teapot features an image on one side of the pot of two women standing by a body of water with homes and scenery in the background. The scene uses colors such as green, red, orange and blue among other colors. The most prominent color on the teapot is a light purple or lavender that is done with the lusterware shine that reflects light to draw attention to the piece. Most of the teapot is of a white color. The color black has been used as a trim color underneath one of the areas with the lustrous light purple color on the upper part of the pot itself. The lid is mostly a light purple color except for the underside. The flange of the lid is also in the lusterware light purple color. The words \"Made in Japan\" can be seen on the underside of the teapot. (Please see attached photos #6 & #7 for visuals.)
**Whether or not this teapot is practically used will be up to the discretion of the buyer. It is not claimed what temperature this piece can endure to if or not it is microwave safe. Whether or not this piece is food safe is not known to this seller.**Measurements: (These measurements are not guaranteed to be 100% accurate. The measurements were taken with a tape measure and are being provided to give an idea as to the overall size of the teapot.)
Height (with lid): Approximately 7.25\"Length: Approximately 9.75\" (This measurement was taken from the edge of the handle to the tip of the spout.)Width: Approximately 4.25\" (This measurement was taken at the widest part of the teapot near the spout.)
Weight (teapot only): 1lb. 8.1oz. Condition of the teapot: (Also please see the attached photos for visuals of the teapot and lid\'s conditions.)
There are visible scratching, scuffing and staining/discoloration throughout the teapot in various locations.
There are visible black \"dots\" or flaws in the glaze on both exterior and interior of the teapot. There are areas on both the rim of the teapot as well as the tip of the spout that looked to be chips, however, they are not rough to the touch. They more feel and look once the teapot can be personally viewed to be painting or manufacturing flaws with the piece. There is a little \"bump\" on the edge of the spout as well that does feel a little rougher to the touch than the surrounding area. Though this will not be labeled as a chip since the area is in the purple lusterware color of the rest of the spout. (Please see attached photos #11 & #18 for visuals of these flaws.)
There are rough flaws within the glaze throughout the teapot in various areas. Some of these flaws may be visible in the attached photos, but they can be felt and seen when the teapot is personally viewed. There is also a manufacturing flaw in the interior of the pot. There is a very visible, rough piece of ceramic that is in the area of the tea filter holes (please see attached photo #10 for a visual of this interior flaw).
There is visible staining/discoloration on the non-glazed portion of the underside of the teapot. (Please see attached photos #6 & #7 for visuals.)
There are little \"chips\" along the edges of the very top of the pot as well as the underside non-glazed portion of the lid. These chips could be the result of preowned handling. (Please see attached photos #9 & #13 for visuals of these flaws.)
The rim of the spout does feel slightly rougher than the area that surrounds it.
The paint on this piece has faded with time, or in some areas may not be evenly applied. However, this adds a charm to the piece. Some of these painting flaws may also be a process of manufacturing as well.
There are chip-like flaws around the hole in the lid.
Other than the above mentioned chips, there were no further breaks or chips that were noticed with either the teapot or the lid.
Even with the above listed flaws, this teapot would make a charming addition to any teapot collection. Its colors will help it blend with a either a colorful space or help to brighten up an area.
There are no returns accepted for this item.
